The conflicts in the Middle East and southern sea routes also affect the activities of Baku Port.
Eldar Salahov, director of Baku Port, stated this while answering the question of Modern.az.
"Of course, the geo-economic situation and clashes in the region affect the activities of Baku Port. Unforeseen cargo flows may occur. Today, large-scale measures are being implemented by Baku Port to meet these cargoes and, in general, the increasing cargo volume along the Middle Corridor," he said.
E. Salahov noted that the strengthening of the technical base is being continued to manage the increasing cargo flow in a timely and efficient manner:
"Work is being carried out rapidly in the direction of purchasing new cargo handling equipment, locomotives, cranes, container and forklift loaders. However, we understand that the issue does not end only with increasing technical capabilities. At the same time, important steps are being taken to increase operational efficiency, improve coordination and digital information exchange. Baku Port is fully ready to accept such increasing cargo flows."
