On September 9, the dollar exchange rate in Iran's free market reached 233,900 tomans, breaking a new historical record.
Modern.az reports that the "Azad Iran" "Telegram" channel reports about it.
According to the information, the British pound sterling was traded at 316,000 tomans, the euro at 272,000 tomans, and the "Emami" gold coin at 242 million tomans.
It is noted that two weeks ago, the dollar completed trading operations at 206,400 tomans. Thus, today's exchange rate is approximately 13% higher than the price at that time.
The sharp rise in the national currency exchange rate occurs against the background of the strengthening of military confrontation in the region. On August 8, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the destruction of five Iranian oil tankers. In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that 20 ships were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz.
At the same time, the price of "Brent" crude oil exceeded 100 dollars per barrel today (August 9).
