Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has faced difficulties in appointing the country's new ambassador to the United States.

According to the information, Kyiv is looking for a candidate with sufficient political weight and influence to represent Ukraine in Washington. However, some potential candidates are not in a hurry to accept this position.
It is reported that Zelensky had previously offered to send former Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko as ambassador to the US. However, Sviridenko did not accept this offer.
According to sources, after this, other candidates also began to act cautiously regarding the position. One of the reasons cited is the complexity of working with the administration of US President Donald Trump.
It should be recalled that Ukraine's previous ambassador to the US, Olga Stefanishina, was dismissed from her post by Zelensky's decree on August 3.
The selection of a new ambassador is of particular importance for Kyiv. This is because Washington is one of Ukraine's main partners in military and diplomatic support. The embassy's activities can play an important role in negotiations with the US administration regarding arms supplies, air defense, intelligence cooperation, and possible peace processes.
