Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sharply criticized Great Britain's policy towards Israel and the scale of migration in the country, calling Britain “the Islamic Republic of Britain.”
Modern.az reports that Netanyahu said in an interview with an Israeli podcast that it is impossible to find an objective or positive portrayal of Israeli history in modern Britain.
He noted that the situation was different in the past, recalling how Winston Churchill's grandson covered the Six-Day War in 1967.
The head of the Israeli government also used harsh words when touching upon the demographic and political changes taking place in Europe.
“Someone said that the first Islamic Republic with nuclear weapons will be "the Islamic Republic of Britain". That's why we are doing everything we can to prevent Iran from having such an opportunity,” Netanyahu said.
It should be noted that Netanyahu's statements were made amid the ongoing tension in relations between London and Tel Aviv against the background of the Gaza war. The British government's criticism of Israel's operations in Gaza and its official recognition of Palestine have further deepened the differences between the two countries.
It should be recalled that Netanyahu had previously accused the leadership of the ruling Labor Party of Great Britain of actually making concessions to Hamas.
