Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili has questioned how serious the European Union's intention to expand in the South Caucasus is.
Modern.az reports that in her statement, the minister said that Georgia is an important country for the European Union.
According to her, Georgia is located in a strategic position in terms of intercontinental transit and attracts attention in the region due to its economic growth indicators. The minister noted that the country's gross domestic product grows by approximately 8 percent annually.
"Europe wants to expand, but it has no experience of presence in the region," said Maka Bochorishvili.
The Georgian Foreign Minister called on her European partners to engage in dialogue with Tbilisi and show respect for Georgia.
According to Bochorishvili, Tbilisi's main goal is to create a balance between relations with neighboring countries and international obligations.
