US President Donald Trump plans to hold talks with leaders of Gulf countries on Iran within the framework of the UN General Assembly session in New York.

Modern.az reports that "Axios" spread information about this, citing sources. The meeting is expected to be held next week, and the main topic of discussion will be the US strategy for the post-war phase with Iran.

According to the information, leaders or high-level representatives of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman have been invited to the talks. Washington is working on a broader "day after" plan for the post-conflict period with Iran. According to previous information from Axios, one of the main directions of this strategy is to establish regional cooperation aimed at limiting Iran's influence among US allies.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also said to want to hold a separate meeting with Trump in New York. However, according to "Axios", such a meeting has not yet been included in Trump's official program.

It should be noted that the information from "Axios" is presented not as "Trump is preparing for a new Iran war", but as a discussion of the next phase of the ongoing Iran conflict and post-war strategy. The military confrontation between the US and Iran is currently ongoing.
