Ukraine has officially appealed to the governments of all countries where Russian cultural centers operate under the name “Russian House”.
Modern.az reports that this was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga.
The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated that the threat posed by these centers to national security must be recognized, and measures should be taken to restrict their activities and completely close them.
Sibiga emphasized that it is impossible to underestimate the “cognitive dimension” of modern warfare.
“Russia is waging a global struggle to influence people's minds. For this purpose, it uses a wide network of tools and channels, including “Rossotrudnichestvo” and cultural centers called “Russian House”. In fact, these act as tools of disinformation, destabilization, and espionage,” the minister said.
He also drew attention to the measures taken by European countries against this network. The minister cited the closure of the “Russian House” that had been operating in Berlin for many years as an example.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister stated that despite the closure of these centers in a number of countries, the disinformation network continues to operate in at least seven European countries.
According to him, the activities of this network have become more widespread in Africa, Central and East Asia, the Asia-Pacific region, and South America.
“In a number of countries, its official infrastructure is still preserved. In some places, the “Russian House” is integrated into Russia's diplomatic infrastructure. Ukraine has officially appealed to the governments of various countries around the world, calling on them to recognize the threats posed by this network, to restrict its activities, and to completely close such centers,” Sibiga emphasized.
