There is no progress in contacts between Iran and the US, but the parties continue to exchange views.
Modern.az reports that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated this at a press conference held within the framework of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
"We are open to negotiations. Yesterday, as I understand it, an exchange of ideas and signals took place mainly through UN mediators. This is a positive point, but I would not call it any serious breakthrough. The fact that this conversation took place is already important," Rubio noted.
It should be recalled that US President Donald Trump stated on September 22 that there is a certain basis for concluding an agreement that will end the conflict with Iran.
According to him, US representatives Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff held a "very productive" meeting with Iranian mediators. Trump also did not rule out the possibility of reaching an agreement before the interim elections in the US on November 3.
