Russia may stop gas supplies to Armenia from November 1 if the Armenian government does not fulfill its political demands.
Modern.az reports that “Hraparak” newspaper published this information citing Russian sources.
According to the newspaper, Moscow has a number of demands from Yerevan. These include refusing to discuss the issue of Russia's 102nd military base and measures against companies operating with Russian capital.
It is also reported that Russia demands the annulment of the law on the start of Armenia's membership process in the European Union or the announcement of the date of the referendum.
According to the information, Moscow's other demand is to stop the persecution of politicians considered pro-Russian. The newspaper also wrote that the appointment of a person acceptable to Russia as deputy prime minister is also demanded.
