Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan explained the reasons why the visit of Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev to Yerevan was not announced until the last minute.
Modern.az reports that Pashinyan, answering journalists' questions, stated that there are certain confidentiality rules regarding such visits, and this is related to various factors, including security.
According to him, the same rules apply to the visits of the Azerbaijani side, but it is not possible to completely prevent information leakage:
“This leak did not happen in Azerbaijan, but it did happen in Armenia. This is related to organizational issues, including the planning of events and the timing of information dissemination. Claims that the visit was allegedly hidden from the public are unfounded.”
Pashinyan noted that the mutual visits of the Deputy Prime Ministers of the two countries are an important and historic event in terms of the institutionalization of the peace process.
