Naran Ochir-Goryaev, a serviceman who was once personally invited to a meeting by Russian President Vladimir Putin and awarded the title of "Hero of Russia", has died during battles in Ukraine.

Modern.az reports that this was announced by Batu Khasikov, the head of Russia's Kalmykia Republic.

According to Russian media, Naran Ochir-Goryaev had been in the combat zone since 2022 and participated in battles in the direction of Soledar, as well as Seversk.

It is reported that he became more widely known after the "direct line" program with Vladimir Putin in December 2025. At that time, the Russian president personally invited the serviceman and asked him to talk about the "liberation" of the city of Seversk in the Donetsk region.

According to Russian media, the company commanded by Ochir-Goryaev took control of more than 80 residential buildings and destroyed 36 strongholds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It should be noted that he was awarded the title of "Hero of Russia" by presidential decree a year ago.
