The Trump administration is pressuring the Mexican government to allow U.S. military operations on its territory to combat drug cartels.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that this idea was first put forward a year ago but was postponed, and efforts resumed after a successful operation to capture Maduro.
The administration wants U.S. forces - agents of the Central Intelligence Agency or special forces - to join Mexican forces. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has so far rejected this move, claiming it violates Mexico's sovereignty.
