A shortage of drinking water has emerged in the Hormuzgan province in southern Iran after US strikes on water supply and sewage systems in the region.

According to Modern.az, “Fars” agency reported this.

According to the information, an official in charge of the province's water and sewage network stated:

“As a result of the American enemy's attacks, infrastructure facilities intended for the distribution of drinking water have been destroyed. This includes two concrete water reservoirs with capacities of 500 and 2000 cubic meters, and their associated mechanical equipment, which have been destroyed.”

Water supply interruptions were also recorded in the Bamani region, which has a population of approximately 20,000 people. According to the agency's assessment, the amount of damage incurred is approximately 1 million US dollars.

The report notes:

“Currently, water supply to the residents of these areas has been suspended, and alternative measures to provide water to the population are being discussed.”

Iran's state television and radio company reported that the US struck two water reservoirs in Hormuzgan province.

According to reports, US troops attacked targets in Iran in response to the downing of an American AH-64 Apache helicopter.

The report notes that Iran, in response, also struck American targets in the region.
