Amidst the legal and political crisis within Turkey's main opposition party, the Republican People's Party (CHP), Özgür Özel and his team are making final preparations for the establishment of a new political party.
Modern.az reports that according to information shared by Turkish journalist İsmail Saymaz on his social media account, the application for the establishment of the political entity to be called “Yeni Parti” (New Party) will be submitted next week.
It was stated that the party's charter and program are already ready. It was noted that the program will begin with the slogan “It's time for change.”
The post indicated that the founding philosophy of the Republic and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's ideal of an independent, modern, and sovereign Turkey are shown as the main pillars of the new party. It was also emphasized that modern social-democratic values, Anatolia's culture of coexistence, and the “Six Arrows” principle will be adopted.
According to information obtained by Saymaz from political circles, the main goal of the new political entity will be to change the government and come to power. It is claimed that the concept of “Turkey Alliance” will also be included in the program.
It is reported that deputies are also planned to be among the founders of the new party, and at least 90 CHP deputies are expected to join the new political entity.
Furthermore, it was noted that despite a possible annulment decision by the Court of Cassation regarding the CHP congress, the new party will continue its activities and will be kept open to legal possibilities.
It has been suggested that the party's headquarters are planned to be located in the Mustafa Kemal neighborhood of Ankara, in the building vacated by the Future Party.
