Movses Arutyunyan, press secretary of Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, has resigned.

Modern.az reports that, according to information disseminated by the Armenian media, a number of employees who previously worked in the apparatus of the Speaker of the National Assembly were dismissed by order of Ruben Rubinyan, a candidate for the post of Parliament Speaker.

Among them are parliamentary speaker's advisors Ovannes Nalbandyan and Aharon Nersisyan, and assistants Karlen Greyan and Zina Chalikyan.

In addition, Ashkhen Hayrapetyan resigned by order of Alen Simonyan without waiting for Ruben Rubinyan's decision. Edgar Muradyan, the parliament speaker's referent, also wrote an application to resign.

It should be noted that Alen Simonyan's term of office ends on August 3. The ruling "Civil Contract" Party did not nominate him again for the post of Parliament Speaker. This post is expected to be entrusted to Ruben Rubinyan.

Armenian media writes that the consistent removal of Simonyan's close team from office is noteworthy. Publications evaluate this as an indicator of changes taking place within the government.
