The "Sheskharis" (Sheshkharis) oil terminal, located on Russia's Black Sea coast and considered the country's largest oil export point, stopped loading crude oil onto tankers as of the morning of July 21.
Modern.az reports that "Bloomberg" agency disseminated this information.
It was stated that the official reason for the suspension of loading at the terminal has not been disclosed. However, this event coincides with a period of intensified Ukrainian drone attacks on ships and port infrastructure in the Black Sea.
It is noted that unfavorable weather conditions sometimes hinder the loading process at the "Sheskharis" terminal. However, a storm warning in the region only came into effect on the evening of July 23. This is two days after the completion of the last oil loading at the terminal.
"Transneft" company, the operator of the terminal, did not respond to Bloomberg's inquiry.
According to the agency, from the beginning of 2026, an average of approximately 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day was exported through the "Sheskharis" terminal.
"Bloomberg" states that a prolonged shutdown of the terminal's operations could create additional pressure on the global oil market, which is already under the influence of the conflict in the Middle East.
