Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze presented his government's annual report to the parliament.
Modern.az reports, citing Georgian media, that Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the construction of Vaziani Tbilisi International Airport is planned to begin at the end of 2027.
"Currently, preparatory work for the construction of Vaziani Tbilisi International Airport is actively underway. The construction process is planned to begin at the end of 2027, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2031."
According to the Prime Minister, the construction of new terminals at Telavi and Mestia airports will also start soon:
It should be noted that Vaziani village is located in the southeastern part of Georgia, in the territory of Gardabani municipality, where Azerbaijanis compactly reside. The settlement is located approximately 23 kilometers north-northwest (as the crow flies) from the city of Gardabani.
