The interception of information sent from Iran allowed US intelligence agencies to learn about a planned assassination attempt on President Donald Trump in Ankara.

Modern.az reports, citing “Qafqazinfo”, that London's “The Times” newspaper published this information, citing Rami Igra, a former employee of Israel's foreign intelligence service “Mossad”.

According to him, Iranian intelligence agencies did not intend to carry out the assassination directly. They included Trump's name in a “shooting list” passed to armed organizations they controlled. This list included the names of those who authorized the February bombings that led to the death of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, including Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the former “Mossad” employee, Trump's plane was supposed to be shot down by fire from a portable missile system as it took off from Ankara airport. It was thanks to this information that the US Secret Service decided to evacuate the head of state from Turkey on another military plane.

However, neither the newspaper nor Rami Igra provided any explanation as to who intercepted the information allegedly sent from Iran and why the assassination attempt on the president did not occur. Nevertheless, claims were shared in the press that a portable missile system was allegedly seen near Ankara airport.
