The fact that the US Navy's "Abraham Lincoln" aircraft carrier has been at sea for more than 250 days has caused serious concern among the relatives of the servicemen on board. They report problems with food shortages, faulty sanitation systems, and the psychological state of the servicemen on the ship.

It was noted that there are currently approximately 5,000 servicemen on board the "Abraham Lincoln" aircraft carrier.
The aircraft carrier departed from the port in California in November 2025 and was initially sent to the South China Sea. Later, after the start of the US war with Iran, it was directed to the Middle East.
Although the servicemen were scheduled to return home in May, their deployment period was extended several times. As a result, the ship has been at sea for more than 250 days, and concerns about crew fatigue have increased.
Relatives of the servicemen report food shortages, non-functioning sanitary facilities, hygiene problems, and other deficiencies on the ship. According to them, the long-term mission also negatively affects the psychological state of the servicemen.
A relative of one of the servicemen told the BBC on condition of anonymity that his family member had lost 29 kilograms since the beginning of the mission.
According to him, the serviceman tried to throw himself into the sea from the ship.
In one of their last conversations via "WhatsApp", the serviceman said, "I'm deadly tired. Deadly."
US lawmakers have demanded an explanation from the Pentagon regarding the issue. Senator Richard Blumenthal expressed his concerns about water contamination, supply shortages, plumbing and safety problems, delayed letters, and the deteriorating psychological state of the servicemen on the ship.
US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset, however, denied the reports about the situation on the ship. He stated that the information about the conditions on board the "Abraham Lincoln" distorted reality.
In addition, the US Navy announced that it had not identified an increased risk of suicide on the ship and that servicemen had access to psychological support options.
It should be noted that the "George Washington" aircraft carrier is reportedly moving towards the Middle East to replace the crew of the "Abraham Lincoln".
