About 140 migrants were detained during a raid in Moscow.

Modern.az reports that, according to the Migration Service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, a raid was conducted in the Moscow metro using “the latest technologies” to identify individuals violating migration legislation.

The Ministry's statement indicates that the operation was carried out at one of the Moscow metro stations. In addition to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Migration Service, employees of the Center for Migration Issues, police from Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as employees of the Internal Affairs Directorate in the Moscow Metro, participated in the raid.

“Within a few hours, law enforcement agencies identified about 140 foreigners who were in the country in violation of migration legislation and were included in the registry of controlled persons,” the statement noted.

It is reported that all detained individuals were taken to police stations. They will be deported from Russia and subsequently banned from entering the country.

The Migration Service announced that such measures will be carried out regularly, including in other regions of Russia.
