Saudi Arabia has halted the operation of a critical oil pipeline.
Modern.az reports that Saudi Arabia has suspended the operation of one of the country's important oil infrastructure facilities after a series of drone attacks from Iraq. According to information, the East-West oil pipeline's operation has been temporarily suspended after drone attacks on facilities in the Riyadh and Medina regions.
This pipeline, capable of transporting up to 7 million barrels of oil daily, is considered an important alternative route for Saudi Arabia's oil exports. The pipeline allows oil to bypass the Strait of Hormuz and reach the Red Sea.
The closure of the pipeline has further increased risks related to oil supply in the Middle East. Especially in the context of existing restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing Houthi attacks, the suspension of an alternative oil route has intensified concerns about global oil supply.
