The Ukrainian army recaptured approximately 200 square kilometers of Russian-controlled territory north of the city of Lyman during the summer months.

Modern.az reports, citing military analysts' assessments published by “Bild”, that units of the 3rd Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces gradually forced Russian forces to retreat towards the Zherebets River.

This eliminated the front salient that the Russian army had formed over approximately one year. This situation reduced the threat in the Lyman direction and made it difficult for Russian forces to advance towards Sloviansk and the northern part of Donbas.

Pro-Russian Telegram channels, in their posts regarding the situation in the Lyman direction, stated that battles in the region have intensified.

The post notes that Ukrainian forces crossed the Zherebets River and engaged reserve forces in battle. It is claimed that battles are ongoing in the areas of Zarechnoye, Ivanovka, and Kolodezi, while mutual clashes continue on the Redkodub–Novoye line.

It is also reported that Ukrainian forces have deployed new assault groups to Lyman and that mutual battles continue in both the northern and southern parts of the city.
