A telephone conversation between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump took place at the initiative of the American side and lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Modern.az reports that this was reported by Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov. According to him, the leaders discussed the Ukrainian issue and agreed to hold another telephone conversation after the US President's talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During the conversation, the Russian President emphasized the fundamental importance of continuing to base future agreements on those reached in Anchorage, as well as within the framework of previous bilateral contacts.
According to Y. Ushakov, Vladimir Putin supported Donald Trump's proposal to continue the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict within the framework of two specially created working groups on security and economic issues. At the same time, it was emphasized that Russia expects a political decision from Kyiv regarding Donbas for the complete cessation of hostilities.
