Three days of national mourning have been declared in Northern Cyprus after a passenger ship operating the Kyrenia-Taşucu route crashed off the coast of Kyrenia, causing loss of life.

It should be recalled that the Prime Minister of Northern Cyprus, Ünal Üstel, announced that the ship's captain and 7 crew members were detained as part of the investigation into the passenger ship that sank off the coast of Kyrenia.
In the ship accident off the coast of Kyrenia, 8 people lost their lives and 237 people were rescued. Among those rescued are two Azerbaijani citizens.
