Work continues towards the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border and the quick signing of a final peace agreement with Azerbaijan.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a briefing after a government meeting.
"I think the time has come for contacts between officials of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey to become an integral part of daily work," the Prime Minister emphasized.
With this, Pashinyan hinted at the intensification of contacts and meetings between officials of these countries in recent times.
Speaking about the prospects of opening the Armenia-Turkey border and signing a final peace agreement with Azerbaijan, Pashinyan noted that there is no new news on this topic.
"There is nothing new, just daily work is being done. We are looking for opportunities to develop relations in various directions," the Prime Minister said.
In this context, he recalled that one of the Turkish airlines - "Turkish Airlines" - has already started flights to Armenia. He stated that this issue was discussed at his meeting with the Turkish President in China last year. According to the Prime Minister, President Erdoğan told him that if Armenia wished, "Turkish Airlines" could start flights to Yerevan. Now he hopes that flights over Gyumri will also open soon.
"We hope that some Turkish airline will also operate flights to Gyumri."
The Prime Minister emphasized that the main issue for him is not whether the Armenia-Turkey border will be opened or a peace agreement with Azerbaijan will be signed, but when it will happen.
According to Pashinyan, work is currently underway to make this happen as soon as possible.
