What happened is the result of the confrontation within the CHP, and Özgür Özel is trying to cover up his failure.
Modern.az reports that Ömer Çelik, spokesperson for the ruling Justice and Development Party, stated this to journalists.
“We return all of Özgür Özel's statements of political insult and targeting to him. We will never allow attempts at insult and political violence,” he emphasized.
The spokesperson for the Justice and Development Party noted that the statements made in the last two days have gone too far and stated that the legal and political struggle will continue.
“Turkey's political life has gone through many crises. Our President is our red line. We will continue to hold them accountable before the law and on the political level,” Çelik added.
He also noted that the current process consists of the internal conflict among CHP members being brought to the judicial level:
“No political party is a party to this incident. The initial accusations were made by individuals who held leadership positions in the CHP and are currently actively involved in politics. After that, the court process began and the current situation arose.”
