Armenia plans to buy new weapons from India.
Modern.az reports with reference to foreign media that Armenia plans to buy new weapons from India, including "Akash-NG" Air Defense (AD) systems, "Pralay" missiles, and modernize "Su-30SM" fighters.
This step is aimed at strengthening Armenia's military potential, as well as reducing its dependence on Russian weapons.
The "Akash-NG" system can provide long-range advanced air defense, while "Pralay" missiles can provide high-precision strike capabilities. India also intends to upgrade Armenia's "Su-30SM" fighter fleet with "Uttam" active phased array antenna (AESA) radars, "Astra" missiles, and advanced strike systems.
The expanding defense cooperation between India and Armenia is considered a step aimed at changing the balance of power in the Caucasus after the 44-day war in 2020.
