Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke at an event dedicated to the memory of the late Supreme Leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Modern.az reports that “Tasnim” agency published quotes from Pezeshkian's speech.
“The enemies thought that within three days they could destroy Iran from its roots and implement their insidious plans in the country. But the unity of the people thwarted all these perceptions,” the President emphasized.
He said that the main priority is unity and solidarity within the country. Enemies try to deepen disagreements, but no country can be forced to surrender with planes and bombings.
“If they could not make Gaza, which has such a small territory, surrender, they certainly cannot force Iran to surrender with threats. Iran will never surrender.”
Pezeshkian said that governing the country in a state of war and confrontation is not an easy task.
He stated that in his conversations with the late Khamenei, the main issue was to get the country out of this situation and continue negotiations. As a result, negotiations were allowed to continue to resolve the problems.
The President emphasized:
“We must get out of the 'neither war, nor peace' situation. War is not in the country's interest. But if the enemies want to violate Iran's dignity, land, and territorial integrity, we will never surrender and retreat. The enemy should not even dream of such a thing.”
He added that the cooperation and solidarity of all strata, ethnic groups, and all citizens, regardless of gender, are important to save the country's future from crises and difficulties.
