Russian Hero Naran Ochir-Goryaev, who participated in the battles in Ukraine, has died.
Modern.az reports that the death of Senior Lieutenant Naran Ochir-Goryaev, of Kalmyk origin, has been confirmed by the head of the region, Batu Khasikov.
According to information, Ochir-Goryaev appeared several times in Putin's "Direct Line" program in December 2025 and was remembered for reporting to the Russian president about the capture of the city of Seversk in the Donetsk region. After this, he was awarded the title of "Hero of Russia".
Although Russian sources reported that the serviceman died while performing a combat mission, the exact circumstances of his death have not been disclosed.
Ukrainian sources, however, claim that Ochir-Goryaev was destroyed as a result of a drone strike. Robert Brovdi ("Madyar"), commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, released video footage regarding this.
