US President Donald Trump said that if there had not been an agreement with Iran, a "global depression" could have occurred in the world.

Iran and the US have already agreed on a memorandum to be signed in Switzerland on June 19. This memorandum is expected to allow the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian Foreign Ministry noted that after the memorandum is signed, Tehran and Washington must negotiate within 60 days to prepare a final agreement.

According to Modern.az, Trump said on June 17 that if Tehran does not act in accordance with the terms of the agreement, Washington will resume strikes against Iran.

"This is a memorandum of understanding. If they don't behave properly, we will immediately return to raining bombs on their heads."

Trump also denied media reports about the creation of a $300 billion private investment fund within the framework of settling the conflict between the US and Iran.

He told reporters during the G7 summit in France:

"This is not true. We are not investing and we do not have such a fund."
