At least 11 people, including 8 police officers and 3 civilians, were injured as a result of a car bomb explosion in Cucuta, a city on the border of Colombia and Venezuela.
Modern.az reports that the incident happened a few days before the newly elected president of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, took office.
De la Espriella condemned the incident, calling it an act of terrorism and stating that terrorism will not be able to intimidate the country.
The new president, who will take office on August 7, previously promised to intensify the fight against armed groups and drug cartels and advocated a force-based approach to ensuring security in the country.
