For the first time, music from Azerbaijani and world films was performed at the Gabala International Music Festival, held with the initiative and organization of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, and “Gilan”.
Modern.az reports that this project, carried out with the artistic direction and chief conductorship of Mustafa Mehmandarov and accompanied by the “Scorrendo” Orchestra, was met with great interest by the audience.
Soloists – violinist Said Mammadov and soprano Natella Guliyeva performed during the evening.
The concert program featured music composed by Tofig Guliyev for the film "Görüş", Arif Malikov for "Axırıncı aşırım", Khayyam Mirzazade for "Yeddi oğul istərəm", Fikrat Amirov for "Böyük dayaq", as well as famous musical works from films such as "Star Wars", "Harry Potter", "Interstellar", "Mission: Impossible", "Indiana Jones", "Léon: The Professional", "The Matrix", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "The Godfather", and "Rocky" by world-renowned composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, Ramin Djawadi, Nino Rota, and Bill Conti. The live performance of memorable music from beloved screen works of different generations created a special atmosphere in the amphitheater.
It should be noted that the XV Gabala International Music Festival continues successfully. The organization of this festival has primarily led to the revitalization of tourism in the region. The concert halls and open-air amphitheater where the festival is held are completely full, and a large number of foreign guests, along with local residents, are observed among the audience. One of the main goals of holding the international festival is to transform Gabala into an important platform for intercultural dialogue.
