The IX convocation of the National Assembly of Armenia has started its activity. The first session of the parliament was opened by the oldest deputy, Knyaz Hasanov.
Modern.az reports that in his speech, Knyaz Hasanov called on representatives of the government and opposition to put aside their differences and unite for the sake of the state.
"I ask and demand from the opposition and government deputies to put aside their differences, unite around our state and government, and work together for the development of our country," he said.
For the first time in the history of independent Armenia, the first session of the parliament began without the blessing of Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians. This caused protests from opposition representatives.
