Greece has objected to the adoption of the 21st package of sanctions prepared by the European Union against Russia.

Modern.az reports that "Financial Times" published information about this.

According to the information, Athens opposed the planned ban on the transportation of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) to third countries. The Greek side believes that this restriction will seriously harm the Dynagas company, owned by the country's renowned businessman Georgi Prokopiou.

According to the publication's sources, Greece's permanent representative to the EU informed other member states that the proposed sanctions could effectively force Dynagas to cease operations. According to him, the company's ships will not be able to be used on other routes and will consequently have to be sold.

It is noted that each such gas carrier is worth approximately 300 million dollars.

According to the maritime portal Equasis, Dynagas currently operates 27 gas carriers. One-third of them are Arc7 class tankers, specially built to operate in the icy Arctic waters for Russia's "Yamal LNG" project.

It should be noted that Georgi Prokopiu also owns Dynacom, Dynagas Holding and Sea Traders companies. According to Forbes magazine, the businessman and his family's fortune is estimated at 4.7 billion dollars.
