The administration of US President Donald Trump is discussing options for expanding military operations against Iran.
Modern.az reports that "The Wall Street Journal" (WSJ) spread information about this.
According to the publication, Trump discussed three possible scenarios of escalation at a meeting held in the White House.
The first option envisages the capture of Kharg Island, which is considered Iran's main oil export center, with the participation of US troops.
The second scenario is air strikes on the “Piks-Mountain” underground complex, which is associated with Iran's nuclear program and has not yet been targeted by the US. It is reported that tunnels located at a depth of approximately 90-145 meters under granite rocks may be inaccessible even for existing bunker-buster bombs.
The third option envisages the expansion of US air attacks to include Iran's energy infrastructure facilities.
According to the WSJ, Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision on any of these options.
