The world-famous gastronomy platform TasteAtlas has announced a new rating of the top 100 national cuisines in the world.
Modern.az reports that Azerbaijani cuisine ranked 67th in the list compiled based on consumer reviews.
The top three in the ranking were Italian, Spanish and Japanese cuisines. Among neighboring countries, Turkey ranked 7th, Georgia 21st, Russia 28th, Azerbaijan 67th, and Armenia 87th.
TasteAtlas specifically mentioned shah plov, lavangi, lavash and qutab among Azerbaijan's most famous national dishes. The platform presented these dishes as one of the main symbols of the country's rich culinary heritage.
It was stated that the rating was prepared based on 590,228 user reviews, as well as evaluations of 18,912 dishes and products in the database.
TasteAtlas is considered one of the most influential gastronomy platforms that compares the cuisines of different countries around the world based on consumer ratings.
