Tatyana Navka, wife of Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov and former figure skater, has protested against the sanctions imposed on her by the European Union (EU) and demanded 2 million euros in compensation.

According to the information, Tatyana Navka, a former Olympic champion in figure skating, was included in the EU sanctions list in June 2022. Dmitry Peskov's son and daughter were also included in the same list.
The European Union stated at the time that the sanctions, which include a ban on entry to EU countries and financial restrictions, were imposed "in connection with activities that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine."
Although born in Ukraine, Tatyana Navka, a Russian citizen, is seeking to lift these restrictions through the European Union Court of Justice.
She based her claim on three main arguments:
the legal grounds for the sanctions against her were not sufficiently explained;
errors were made in the application of legal norms and the assessment of facts;
the European Union failed to prove the existence of a sufficient link between her and the purpose of the sanctions.
In addition, Navka demands 2 million euros in compensation from the Council of the European Union for material and reputational damage.
According to the information, Yekaterina Ignatova, wife of Sergey Chemezov, head of Russia's "Rostec" defense-industrial corporation, also came forward with a similar claim. She is also trying to achieve the lifting of the sanctions imposed by the EU.
It should be noted that Tatyana Navka, born in Dnipro, Ukraine, openly supports the policy of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia's war against Ukraine. She is also included in the database of Ukraine's "Mirotvorets" center.
