US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington will continue to play a key role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, US President Donald Trump is the only world leader who can bring Kyiv and Moscow to the negotiating table.
Modern.az reports that Rubio said that in the first year of the conflict, the situation was practically at a stalemate. However, the US is still ready to take constructive steps.
"I think that in the next few weeks we will witness attempts to resume negotiations between the parties and put an end to this conflict," Rubio said.
He added that both Ukraine and Russia have strict "red lines" from which they will not back down.
