The death toll from a series of earthquakes that hit Venezuela at the end of June has risen to 6125. Modern.az reports that this was announced by the Speaker of the country's National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, on his Telegram channel.
The previous official report stated that 5546 people had died.
According to the latest data, 6462 people were rescued during search and rescue operations, and 60,992 people received medical assistance in hospitals.
287 residential buildings were handed over to those left homeless as a result of the natural disaster. In addition, 43,679 buildings were inspected, and it was determined that 41,624 of them were damaged to varying degrees.
It should be noted that on June 24, several strong earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 occurred in Venezuela.
