Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he hopes diplomatic efforts to stop the war with Russia will yield results this autumn.
Modern.az reports that Zelensky spoke about this at a meeting with the heads of Ukraine's diplomatic missions abroad.
According to the President, Ukraine will direct all its efforts to increase pressure on Russia and ensure the country has a safe winter.
"We cannot currently predict with one hundred percent certainty when our diplomatic efforts will yield results. But we will work very hard for this to happen before winter, in autumn," Zelensky said.
He emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to prolong the war, preparing new mobilizations and new attacks. Therefore, Ukraine intends to increase pressure on Russia by uniting its partners.
Zelensky noted that the upcoming winter is a top priority for Ukraine. For this purpose, ensuring the country's financial needs, equipment for energy infrastructure, transformers, as well as missiles for Patriot, IRIS-T, HAWK, SAMP/T, and NASAMS air defense systems is one of the main tasks.
