India has not accepted Russia's offer to buy fifth-generation Su-57E fighters.
Modern.az reports that the country's defense secretary, Rajesh Kumar Singh, made a statement about this.
According to him, New Delhi plans to modernize the Su-30MKI fighters in its inventory and develop the local fifth-generation AMCA combat aircraft development program instead.
According to the information, Moscow had previously offered India not only the sale of Su-57E fighters, but also their production within the country with technology transfer. However, New Delhi rejected this offer, taking into account the unsuccessful experience of the previous FGFA joint program.
In addition, Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that India is actively working on modernizing the Su family of combat aircraft produced in the country under a Russian license.
