The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will begin implementing an artificial intelligence-based judicial platform starting September 2026.

Modern.az reports that Deputy Tahir Mirkişili shared a post about this on his personal Facebook account.

The deputy stated that the platform, which is planned for an 18-month phased implementation process, will support the preparation of judicial and legal decisions through artificial intelligence.

According to him, in the trial phase, artificial intelligence will analyze court cases, examine documents, conduct legal research, and analyze similar court decisions, i.e., precedents.

Tahir Mirkişili emphasized that the most important point in the project is that the final decision will still be made by the judge:

"The important point is that the final decision will still be made by the judge. Artificial intelligence will provide the legal basis, analytical data, and recommendations for the preparation of the decision."

According to the deputy, the main goal of the initiative is to speed up judicial processes, ensure a more consistent approach in similar cases, and reduce the workload of judges.

Mirkişili believes that if the project is successfully implemented, it could be the beginning of a new stage in the application of artificial intelligence not only in the judicial system but also in public administration as a whole.

It should be noted that the platform developed by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department is presented as the world's first fully integrated artificial intelligence-based judicial system. According to official information, the system will perform functions such as analyzing case materials, legal research, searching for precedents, and preparing court documents. In addition, all decisions will be reviewed under human supervision, and the final decision will be made by the judge. The first phase of the platform is planned to start in September 2026, with full implementation to be carried out in phases over 18 months.
