The new work week started without a magnetic storm, but an increase in geomagnetic activity is expected in the coming days.

According to the information, on August 10, the Kp index, which shows the strength of magnetic storms, will not be higher than 3. This means that a magnetic storm will not occur. Because a magnetic storm begins when the Kp index reaches 5.
However, there is a possibility of a new magnetic storm on August 12. According to preliminary forecasts, the storm is not expected to be strong. Currently, it is not known how many days it will last.
Magnetic storms occur when streams of charged particles from the Sun reach the Earth's magnetic field and create temporary changes there. Their strength depends on the activity of the Sun. Particularly strong solar flares and coronal mass ejections can cause severe geomagnetic storms.
During such events, some people may experience headaches, fatigue, drowsiness, and changes in their health. However, scientific data on the direct effect of magnetic storms on human health is still ambiguous.
Strong solar activity can affect not only people, but also the operation of satellites, radio communications and navigation systems. For this reason, meteorologists and space weather experts carefully monitor geomagnetic activity forecasts.
