A factory on the outskirts of Kyiv was hit by a Russian missile overnight. The attack occurred as the factory was in the process of producing 1.3 million books for the new school year - 10% of all school textbooks in Ukraine.
Modern.az reports with reference to the BBC that Russia has recently carried out a series of attacks on printing houses and publishing houses in various regions of Ukraine. As a result of these attacks, 12 million books have been destroyed, and other symbols of Ukraine's history and culture have also been damaged. Russia has destroyed one-third of all books printed in Ukraine this year.
Nothing can be saved in this Kyiv printing house. Even the pages that survived the fire have become completely unusable either due to the water used during firefighting or due to the effects of rain and other weather conditions as a result of the roof collapsing.
"I believe this was done intentionally by the Russian Federation," says Haydai, commercial director of the Konvi publishing company.
"Over the past two months, some of the largest publishing houses have lost logistics warehouses where large quantities of books were stored."
"The Russians are also destroying printing houses in an attempt to erase Ukraine as a nation. But frankly, they will not succeed in this."
