In March of this year, fruits and vegetables became the most expensive in Azerbaijan, while eggs became cheaper.
Modern.az reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that in March, compared to the previous month, the price of fruits increased by 3.6%, and the price of vegetables by 3.2%.
Along with this, fish and fish products increased by 1.5%, milk and dairy products by 0.6%, bread, bakery products and cereals by 0.7%. Among other product groups, the price of meat and meat products increased by 0.2%, butter and vegetable oils, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and candies, tea, coffee and cocoa, as well as mineral waters and juices increased by 0.3%. Alcoholic beverages increased by 0.5%.
In the reporting month, the biggest decrease was recorded in the price of eggs. Thus, in March, the price of eggs decreased by 2.9% compared to February. The prices of tobacco products remained unchanged last month.
It should be noted that in March of this year, annual inflation was 5.6%, and monthly inflation was 0.5%.(APA)
