On April 24 this year, President Ilham Aliyev signed an Order on providing one-time financial assistance to World War II veterans. According to the Order, individuals who participated in World War II in 1941-1945 will receive a one-time financial assistance of 2750 manats.
Modern.az investigated the amount of one-time payments given to veterans of World War II in various countries. The comparison shows that Azerbaijan pays one of the highest amounts in this direction.
Thus, in Belarus, one of the former Soviet republics, this indicator is approximately 140 thousand rubles (2400 manats).
In Russia, the one-time payment given to veterans at the federal level is only 10 thousand rubles (220 manats). It is stated that this amount has not changed since 2019 and additional payments are provided only in jubilee years.
The highest payment to World War II veterans is made by the friendly state of Kazakhstan. In this country, veterans receive a one-time payment of 1 million rubles (18 thousand manats).
Thus, among the main participating countries of the CIS in World War II, Azerbaijan is among the leading countries in providing the highest one-time financial support to veterans.
