In the first half of 2026, there were also tourists coming to Azerbaijan from countries where conflict and geopolitical tension continued.
Modern.az reports that, according to the State Statistical Committee, a significant part of the 1 million 92.6 thousand foreigners who visited Azerbaijan in January-June 2026 were citizens of countries experiencing conflict or military-political tension in the region.
According to statistics, 28.1 percent of those who came to the country were from Russia, 8.2 percent from Iran, 2.6 percent from Israel, and 1.6 percent from Ukraine.
In addition, 2.9 percent were from Pakistan, 2.4 percent from China, and 1.8 percent from Saudi Arabia.
In total, in the first six months of 2026, 1 million 92.6 thousand foreigners and stateless persons from 189 countries around the world visited Azerbaijan. This figure is 10.3 percent less than in the same period last year.
