The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan continues the investigation into the crash of an "Azerbaijan Airlines" (AZAL) aircraft near Aktau Airport.
Modern.az reports that the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan has released information about this.
"Currently, the commission investigating the aviation incident of the Embraer 190 4K-AZ65 aircraft of "Azerbaijan Airlines" continues its work in accordance with the standards and recommended practices established by Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation," the ministry said in response to a question about whether the investigation was planned to continue or be suspended after the statement by the foreign policy departments of Russia and Azerbaijan.
The ministry emphasized that after the investigation is completed, the final report will be published on the official website of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan.
"The report will reflect the identified causes of the aviation incident, the commission's findings and recommendations," the ministry said.
It should be recalled that on December 25, 2024, an "Embraer" aircraft of "Azerbaijan Airlines" flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan. There were 62 passengers on board, including 37 citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 of Russia, 6 of Kazakhstan, and 3 of Kyrgyzstan, as well as five crew members. As a result of the crash, 38 people died, and 29 people survived, including three children. According to preliminary information, the plane crashed as a result of physical and technical external interference in the airspace over Grozny, Russia.
Azerbaijan and Russia agreed in April 2026 to eliminate the consequences of the AZAL plane crash tragedy, including compensation to the families of the victims and those affected.("Report")
