Özgür İnan Zor, a lawyer of Azerbaijani origin, has been appointed as a prosecutor to the Yargıtay, the highest court of appeal in Turkey that reviews decisions in civil and criminal cases.
Modern.az reports that the appointment of Özgür İnan Zor, originally from Iğdır, is considered one of the notable events in the legal community.
This appointment was also welcomed by his compatriots in his hometown of Iğdır. Iğdır residents congratulated Zor in numerous social media posts.
Özgür İnan Zor has worked in various positions at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Turkey for many years. He began his civil service as a lawyer in 2005 as a judge candidate in Iğdır. From 2007, he worked as a judge in the Beyşehir, Kavak, and Kemer regions, respectively.
Between 2013 and 2017, he served as an inspector judge in the General Directorate of Personnel of the Ministry of Justice. Subsequently, he was appointed as a department head in the General Directorate of Judicial Records and Statistics, and after his successes there, he was promoted to deputy head.
Özgür İnan Zor is also known for his support for education and scholarship opportunities for students from Iğdır through the Iğdır Foundation, which he leads.
