Russian President Vladimir Putin sent congratulatory letters to the leaders and peoples of a number of countries on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Victory over German fascism.
Modern.az reports that these letters were published on the official website of the Russian president.
Putin addressed the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as the peoples of Georgia and Moldova.
He said in his message: “Today we respectfully remember the memory of our fathers and grandfathers; they fought shoulder to shoulder at the front and worked in the rear, bringing closer the Victory over the Nazi invaders at the cost of countless losses and sufferings.”
In the congratulatory letters, the Russian president expressed sincere gratitude to the veterans and home front workers of foreign countries, wishing them good health, high spirits and long life.
